About us

Mission Statement

The House of Rasta and Indigenous Affairs (H.O.R.A.I.A) is a community-rooted non-profit that serves as a repository of Rastafari and Indigenous teachings, artifacts, speakers, and sacrament. Our mission is to foster cultural preservation, ethical education, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing that supports both ancestral continuity and community resilience.

Organizational Purpose

We operate as a cultural knowledge hub, committed to:

  • Archiving and preserving oral histories, ceremonial tools, and teachings

  • Creating access to cultural knowledge through education and public engagement

  • Supporting research on traditional health systems, language, and plant medicine

  • Facilitating mentorship, empowerment, and holistic community development

  • Promoting reconciliation, dignity, and heritage-based healing

Guiding Principles

  • Cultural Integrity – We honor the responsibility of preserving sacred knowledge.

  • Education Over Indoctrination – We teach with clarity, not conversion.

  • Access & Inclusion – Our work welcomes all who walk in respect.

  • Land & Legacy – We support regenerative practices that connect people to Earth and origin.

  • Intergenerational Knowledge – Elders lead, youth rise, and culture lives on.
